Simple. The goal of this site is to motivate you to learn a subject over 500 posts, with the help of an active/supportive community. A call out: To anyone who wants to learn something (for the moment it's more art-related, but anything goes), just register and start posting. Anxiety disapears because the simple "declaration" that you are learning is what makes this site so special. And that 500 posts is the magic number for you to sublimate it into a new skill. I'm Nick Acs (Axe), and I'm a line artist for comic books and animation. I finally conceded that I should learn to paint. My hope is 500 posts will help me get there. And after I complete the 500? I can think of many other things I want to learn... |

Photoshop | 60 mins I feel like I improved again. I did take longer on this one, but I discovered how to really define form clearly with the contrast of light and dark, and their postion/relationship with one another. I also feel that the value balance for the painting as a whole is more harmonious. I've really been focusing on the face, and clothing and background are secondary concerns. I figure as I go down the line of 500 posts I'll focus on drapery/clothing, as well as landscapes and environments. One dang thing at a time! The female subjects are coming up soon. I want to cower in a corner and pretend I never started this 500 posts thing. o.O - Axe |
